Current requirements for advanced badges are 3 and 7 years, respectively, for the senior and chief dental corps badges. W$~ Biomedical Science Corps (BSC) Badge Awarded to officers who are assigned as biomedical science officers. All specialities in the BSC career field require an appropriate level degree as specified by Air Force regulations and receive approval by the USAF Surgeon General. Specialities inc! uded in the B SC field are bioenviromental engineer, aerospace physiologist, biomedical laboratory officer, biomedical specialist, chiropractor, clinical psychologist, clinical social worker, dietitian, health physicist, medical entomologist, occupational therapist, pharmacist, physician assistant, physical therapist, podiatrist, and public health officer.

This badge is authorized for cadets who have completed the Marine Corps Bulldog program at Quantico, Virginia. S. Marine Corps enlisted collar insignia. S. Air Force The patches displayed on page 71 are representative of the types of patches used in both the Army Air Force and the United States Air Force from 1941 to present day. There are many other styles and designs that cannot be included here because of space limitations. A complete work on Air Force patches would be a monumental task and impressive achievement.

Air Force Academy. The Air Force decided in 1956 to have its own distinctive parachute badge after previously using the Army parachute badge. The badges were designed in the shield style of the USAF medical badges and had a white open parachute against a blue and white background. The senior badge bore a star centered atop the badge while the master badge has a star centered on a silver scroll above the shield. Qualifications for the badges were the same as for the Army parachute badges. The Air Force discontinued the badges in 1963 and reverted back to the Army parachutists badges.
